Plusminus 3
In the centre of the old Aegidienviertel district, not far from churches, the synagogue, the Masonic Lodge and the Kunsthalle St. Annen, Plusminus3 transformed a large passageway in the Pergamentmachergang into a new design dimension.
The Dresden art collective plusminus3, consisting of Hartmut Friedrich-Pfefferkorn & Patrick Nitzsche-Kunath, have been working at the interface between urban and contemporary art for 10 years, creating abstract works in a variety of formats, from gallery size to large murals. Their works are hybrids of different styles that interact with each other and with the architecture. The contrast between geometric shapes and different organic textures, such as wood, creates tension and brings the works to life. Through a painterly dialogue between logical structure and deliberate chaos, guided by factors such as chance, intuition and mathematical planning, the artists strive for the greatest possible tension in their works.
